Warranty Duration
All items sold by MT Auto Parts include a 30-day warranty, unless otherwise stated in the product listing or confirmed verbally. Warranty starts from the date of delivery or collection and is valid within the UK only.
Engine Warranty
The term ENGINE refers to the engine Crank, bearings, rods, pistons, block, cylinder head & components, and cam shafts.
Our warranty covers failure of any of these items that results in the engine being rendered unusable. In the event of a failure of any of the above components we will offer replacement if suitable parts are available or a refund if we can not supply replacement items.
Components supplied with the engine (e.g. sensors, turbos, injectors) are not covered with the same warranty.
To validate the warranty:
- The engine must be installed by a VAT-registered garage, and
- A new timing chain, oil, and filter must be fitted at the time of installation.
- Proof of installation and service will be required for any claim.
Warranty does not cover engine failure caused by:
- Incorrect installation or poor workmanship
- Fault or failure of an ancillary component (e.g. alternator, turbo, radiator, fuel injection system, water pump, cam belt, coolant, gaskets, hoses.)
- Malicious damage
- Fire or theft
- Lack of coolant or lubricant
- Gasket or seal failure (e.g. the head gasket fails and the engine overheats, the warranty does not cover this)
- Tampering, modification, or stripping of engine parts (except for belt and filter replacement)
Gearbox Warranty
The term GEARBOX refers to the external casing and the internal gears, shafts and bearings.
The warranty covers failures that render the gearbox unusable. In such cases, we will offer a replacement (if suitable parts are available) or refund if we can not supply replacement items.
Ancillaries supplied with the gearbox (e.g. clutch, sensors, linkages) are not covered.
To validate the warranty:
- The gearbox must be fitted by a VAT-registered garage
- Proof of installation is required to process any claim
Warranty exclusions include damage caused by:
- Incorrect installation or poor workmanship
- Fault or failure of an ancillary component (e.g. drive shaft, differential, clutch components, flywheel, sensors, selector levers or breathers)
- Fire, theft, or malicious damage
- Lack of coolant or lubricant
- Gaskets or seals failure (e.g. if for example the drain plug seal fails and the gearbox loses all its oil, the warranty does not cover this.)
- Tampering, stripping, or modification (except for filling with new oil)

Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ)
1. What is included in the warranty for the engine?
The warranty will cover any losses suffered by the sink which includes its critical components like crankshaft, bearings, crank rods, engine pistons, cylinder heads, camshafts, and other parts that are connected to the engine. We reserve the right to refund or replace depending on the part’s failure if any of these components make the engine inoperable due to failure.
2. What parts are not included under the engine warranty?
The warranty doesn't cover components such as alternators, turbos, radiators, fuel injectors, water pumps, or any that would be hurt by improper installation or outside reasons like fire, theft, or insufficient coolant or lubrication.
3. Are used BMW parts under warranty?
Only those described in the advert title are covered. Used parts can have varying terms, and their warranty coverage will be according to the item.
4. Do I need proof of installation in case of a warranty claim?
Yes, the engine or gearbox must be installed by a VAT-registered garage. Proof of installation will be required in the event of a warranty claim. This is to ensure proper installation and to validate your warranty.
5. What do I do if the engine fails due to an incorrect installation?
If the problem stems from something like installation defects, poor workmanship, or insufficient upkeep, then it becomes impossible to make a warranty claim.
6. How do I go about claiming the warranty?
To claim it in a warranty, there needs to be proof of installation from a VAT-registered garage and data concerning the breakdown. Our operatives will verify the claim and check if a replacement or refund is possible.
7. Is gearbox fault included in the warranty?
Our warranty covers the failure of the outer casing and the gearbox itself’s internal gear, shafts, and bearings. In case any of these components fail and the gearbox cannot be used, we will provide a replacement or a refund of the item depending on our current stock.
8. What does the warranty for BMW parts cover?
Our warranty covers failed BMW parts due to manufacturing errors or defects making the part impossible to use. This includes BMW engines, gearboxes, alloy wheels, body parts, and so forth. All claims will need to be backed up by proof of professional fitting by a VAT-registered garage.
9. Are there additional charges for the warranty?
No, the guarantee does not cover extra expenses such as vehicle recovery, emergency overnight stay, onward journey, car rental, loss of income, or labour expenses.
10. Can I have my faulty used BMW parts exchanged?
If the part is defective, in warranty, and returns are available, we will issue a refund or replace it. However, to claim a warranty, parts must be installed by VAT-registered garages.
11. Can I modify the parts during installation?
Warranty will be null and void if the parts are altered, taken apart, or interfered with in any way, apart from required procedures such as replacing a new cam belt or oil filter.
